Rosacea

It is a chronic disorder that often affects women between the ages of 30 and 50. The lesion appears in the center of the face and may extend to the neck and eyes.

The disease manifests itself as erythema, that is, redness and flushing of the face, with acne-like lesions consisting of papules (small red bumps raised above the surface of the skin), pimples, and small cysts with Capillary vasodilation. There are no come downs in this disease

The patient’s main complaints are a burning, itching, or flushing sensation in the face, which may also be present along with an enlarged nose (rhinophyma).

Recent studies have reported the possibility of Helicobacter (Helicobacter pylori) being involved in the disease processing.

  • Stay away from sources of heat or sunlight, alcoholic beverages and spicy foods
  • Reducing psychological distress, because all of this increases the redness of the face and the condition worsens
  • There are topical and systemic treatments that can be used. The doctor is the one who decides the form and duration of treatment
  • Special types of lasers can be used to relieve redness
  • In some cases, iso-tretinoin is used at a dose of 0.5 mg to 1 mg per kilogram of weight for 20 weeks.
  • When nasal enlargement occurs to a large extent and is annoying, it can be removed with surgery or laser peeling
